Become a certified Mental Health First Aider alongside more than 3 million others.\nWhat mental health first aid covers:\n\n– Common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges in this age group, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders and attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD).\n– Common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges.\n– How to interact with a child or adolescent in crisis.\n– How to connect the youth with help.\n– Expanded content on trauma, substance use, self-care and the impact of social media and bullying.\n\nLearning to respond with the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan (ALGEE)\nApproach for risk of suicide or harm.\nListen nonjudgmentally.\nGive reassurance and information.\nEncourage appropriate professional help.\nEncourage self-help and other support strategies.\nThree ways to learn – In-Person, Blended Video or Blended In-Person\nBlended explained : Learners complete a 2-hour, self-paced online course (completed 48 hrs prior to class), and participate in a 4.5 – to 5.5-hour, Instructor-led training. This Instructor-led training is an In-person class.\n*This course is FREE for residents OR individuals who work in Randolph County.  *Lunch is included.\n
