Job Duties :
Ensure quality service delivery to all clients based on the rules governing the program and service being offered. Mental Health Services follows Rule 140, Substance Use Services are guided by Rule 2060 and both services must meet Council on Accreditation (COA) standards. All services delivered should also meet other rules, regulations, laws and ethical codes related to operations.

  • Every person seeking services should be screened for trauma history using the state approved instrument (IMCANS or IMCAT) within open access setting or crisis setting. Have thorough understanding on the impact of trauma on a person’s life. Understand the signs and symptoms of trauma in clients and families.
  • Provide brief supportive therapy or counseling within the context of a potential psychiatric crisis to mediate conflicts, help solve problems, make decisions regarding placement and safety and provide support. Active listening and empathy skills, genuineness, trust and understanding will be essential to establish rapport.
  • Determine nature and extent of problem areas of individuals requesting services and then triage cases to appropriate service staff. Ensure reminders are given for follow-up appointments.
  • Assess the individual for service need, identify and investigate available resources, and explain options to the client
  • Track individuals who are waiting for services. This will include tracking preferences for office location and their pay sources to ensure they are connected with appropriate staff member.
  • Participate in client centered consultation to coordinate the best possible care for the individual.
  • Assist with coordination, support and advocacy for clients who need multiple services and require assistance in gaining access to and in using mental health, social, vocational, educational, child welfare, and other community services and resources.
  • Assist in the development of an individualized treatment plan as needed. Assist therapist with recommendation or suggest an immediate review of current treatment plan if needed after a period of crisis.
  • Assist in the scheduling and reengagement of clients who cancel or fail intake follow-up appointments. Close client files for any clients who do not engage in services or who do not attend a session beyond the completion of the assessment.
  • Complete all documentation within established timeframes.
  • Attend meetings, staffing and other training activities, this includes consultation regarding progress, problem solving and planning for overall service delivery and program effectiveness.
  • Perform related or other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with all ComWell policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications :
1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
2. Driver’s license and proof of valid automobile insurance.
3. Must meet expectations required by CANTS check, criminal record and Health Care Workers Background Check
4. Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook).
5. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
6. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
7. Bachelor’s Degree Required. Salary negotiable depending on level of degree and experience

Education :

  • Bachelor’s in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field (Required)
  • Master’s degree preferred
