Profile :
I am a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, CADC, who has graduated from the Perry County Drug Court himself. I have a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. My approach to therapy is client-centered, solution-focused, and empathetic. I believe the most important part of the therapeutic relationship is trust, empowerment, and understanding. I use motivational interviewing and open-ended questions to establish rapport and earn trust with each individual. I believe therapy is an extremely important part of the journey of recovery and improving one’s life. For me, the most important part of my job is helping someone find recovery, walking with them on their journey, and seeing the positive impact it has on their lives. The greatest reward of my job is seeing individuals find happiness, empowerment, and truly discover who they are.
Outside of work, I spend my time with my family, especially my girlfriend and my children. I’m walking my own journey in recovery and enjoy anything outdoors, traveling, and video games. Family and values are two of the most important parts of my life. I also attend church regularly, and my faith plays a very important role in my life. I love reading, trying new foods, exploring new places, diving into history, and always seeking ways to improve who I am and what I do.
