Position Overview :
ComWell is seeking a highly dependable, compassionate, and professional Medical Assistant to join our team. The Medical Assistant provides direct support to clients and members of the clinical and psychiatric teams while delivering exceptional, trauma-informed customer service.
The ideal candidate is highly ethical, emotionally intelligent, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position requires someone who can remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively, exercise good judgment, and consistently treat clients and coworkers with dignity and respect.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients in person, by phone, and through electronic communication.
- Respond to phone calls, emails, and client needs in a timely and professional manner.
- Take, document, and monitor vital signs.
- Interview clients and verify information, including medical history, medications, and hospitalizations.
- Utilize existing assessments and accurately document client information.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record and other required systems.
- Assist members of the clinical and psychiatric teams as needed.
- Schedule appointments and perform general office duties, including filing and light cleaning.
- Administer injections and blood draws as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all ComWell policies, procedures, regulations, laws, and applicable standards.
- Participate in Performance and Quality Improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve services.
- Provide trauma-informed care by understanding the impact of trauma and responding appropriately to the needs of clients and families.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications :
- Medical Assistant certificate or diploma.
- Current driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Above-average computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments within established guidelines and procedures.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to perform essential job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and applicable standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
- Occasionally lift, move, push, or pull up to 20 lbs
Compensation : $19 – $21/hour, commensurate with experience
