ComWell was recently awarded one of 151 national Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Planning, Development, and Implementation grants funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. This grant is $1M for each year through 2026. The primary goal of the grant is to transform community behavioral health systems and provide comprehensive, coordinated behavioral health care programs that will ensure access to integrated, evidence-based substance use disorder and mental health services including 24/7 crisis response and medication-assisted treatment. A CCBHC must meet stringent criteria regarding the timeliness of access, quality reporting, staffing, and coordination with the community by the end of year four.
ComWell will provide a comprehensive range of trauma informed services based on our community needs. ComWell commits to support recovery from mental health and/or substance misuse disorders by providing high quality mental and substance use services.
“I am incredibly proud ComWell was selected for this opportunity. This grant will provide funding to enhance our existing services and meet national standards for behavioral health excellence.”
ComWell Executive Director, Shea Haury, stated.
ComWell is a 501c3 private, not-for-profit Community Mental Health Center that provides substance use and mental health counseling plus developmental disability services in Randolph and Washington Counties. ComWell has four outpatient locations located in Chester, Sparta, Red Bud and Okawville.
