December 3rd, 2024 is GivingTuesday – a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. GivingTuesday was created with this simple idea in mind: a day that encourages people to do good.
In 2012, the 92nd Street Y, in partnership with the United Nations Foundation, created Giving Tuesday as a charitable answer to the Black Friday and Cyber Monday retail shopping days, #GivingTuesday is a worldwide movement to encourage giving and celebrate generosity.
This initiative aims to harness the collective power of charities, businesses, and individuals to transform the way people think, talk, and give all year long, especially during the holidays.
Aside from awareness days, or days that are significant to an individual organization or cause, or days of national or international crises, there aren’t many opportunities on any given day dedicated to donation.
Why partner with ComWell on this day of Giving?
When we have the support we need around us, it is hard to imagine what it is like to navigate life’s problems, to ask for help or guidance, and seek healing alone. When we do not have the support we need or when we feel like help is out of reach, even the smallest step toward healing can feel as intimidating as moving a mountain.
Now imagine being brave enough to take that first step, but having no one to meet you there, to hold your hand, to make the climb with you. That, my friend, is where you come in. This is what a gift from you can help guarantee, a fruitful journey, one met with support, engagement, education, treatment and recovery.
For those brave enough to take the first step, for those courageous enough to seek change, for those willing to change the course of their life for their family, for their children and their children’s children, we ask for your support.
ComWell is dedicated to breaking down barriers in our community that hinder residents from taking that first step. The agency has worked hard to build and strengthen community partnerships with local hospitals, schools and businesses to increase access to care.
Southern Illinois community support is unmatched, surrounded by generous givers that understand the importance of the vital programs and services that are tending to needs in your own backyard.
“We hope you consider how your gift can affect the lives of others and stretch ComWell’s impact even further. Whether it is a like, share, word of encouragement, monetary donation, or passing on an act of kindness, we appreciate your support for the community in which you live.”
